How it works
Airline Approved
You must register the serial number on each Trace Me tag in your online account in order for your luggage to be protected and ensure your contact details are up-to-date. Should your bag fail to arrive at your destination airport you must complete the standard PIR form (Product Irregularity Report) required for Insurance purposes and include the serial number of the tag.
When your "Trace Me" tagged luggage is processed the airline baggage handler or lost property official enters the serial number or scans the barcode on the Trace Me tag and the system immediately identifies you as the owner and sends an SMS text message and email notifying you of the location or your bag with an identifying reference provided by the handler. This information can then be passed to you airline or travel agent for them to co-ordinate the delivery of the bag to you.
Without the security risk of putting ones name and address on a suitcase an owner can be quickly and easily identified and contacted wherever their bag is found. And the effectiveness of the tag is not limited to air travel, but can be used by Rail companies, the police, lost property services and other transport companies around the world.
